March Members Update 2008

The final indoor net at Culford will take place on Saturday 15th March at 4pm. Contact Stu Fisher for further details.
- Friday night practise sessions will start on 11th April at 6pm. The first 2nd team match will take place on Saturday 19th April away to Felixstowe. A full fixture list will be circulated with the spring newsletter
- Please pay you subscriptions to either the treasurer Dean Sykes or a team captain as soon as possible. If not paid by the 1st June your selection will be in doubt and the cost will increase by £20.
- Martyn Crouch has agreed to organise the cleaning roster; if any member is unwilling to take a turn they can be exempted by paying an additional £20 subscription. It is important if you wish to opt out that you contact Martyn soon to let him know.
- Mouse is once again organising the tea roster and members are asked to check on the board within the club house to establish when their turn is. If swaps are made please let you team captains know and amend the roster.
- If anyone is interested in regular Thursday night nets they should contact Darren Bugg. If there is enough interest he will arrange.
- Angela Kimber is our New Child Welfare Officer; every member should complete the self certification form that will be circulated with the newsletter. Please support Angela by getting these back to her at your earliest convenience.
- The usual spring work party will meet at the ground at 9am on Good Friday morning; if you are free please support the club by turning up and if you own one; bring a spade. There is some digging, painting, cleaning and net erection to be done. Nigel Carter will be the works foreman for the day so please report to him.
- Eddie Beeton is in the process of ordering club shirts he will contact everyone in due course with pricing. Of course the purchase of a club shirt is not obligatory.
- Club hats are available from me for £6.50.
- There are still a few numbers free for the Bonus Ball scheme. As there will be no annual draw this year please consider contacting Peter Atkins or myself for membership details.
- Isaac Reed has agreed to continue the captaincy of the midweek team. We intend that the older members of the youth section will make up the nucleus of the team but any member is welcome to play. If you are interested please contact Isaac.
- Mark Blackledge is organising a first aid course at the Club House as part of our ongoing club mark Accreditation bid; if anyone is interested in attending please contact him.
- For the coming season we are seeking sponsorship of our individual teams [including the Youth section teams] if you or anyone else is interested please contact me. We are also once again looking for match sponsors details of which will be in the newsletter. The club has agreed to the erection of sponsor boards along the river side fence; if you know of any business they may be interested please pass their details to me.
- The youth section is looking for volunteers to staff the tuck shop and bar on Monday evenings if you are able to help please contact Josie McCafrey.
- A new club house door will shortly be installed, key issue will be limited however all items used for practise will be stored in the changing room and the keys stored in the usual place. All members are invited to attend the ground at any time to use the practise facilities.
- The draw has always been one of our major fund raisers so it is now essential that the Fun Day raise additional revenue. Please keep The Aug BH Monday free and support this event with enthusiastic offers of support. During the spring we also intend arranging a family quiz night please support that as well.
- The Presidents day for the coming season will take the form of a six or seven a side please see the fixture list for details.
- We hope that match reports will be posted on our web site. Captains (or designated players) can send match reports, using the form on this site. Please consider using our online wbshop to access you shopping sites.
- The coming season will see our busiest ever season of cricket; please keep you captains updated on your availability and return any messages that they may leave for you.
