Brockley visited Easton with their Two Counties Division two survival resembling a bad episode of Your Life in Their Hands as results elsewhere seem increasingly likely to determine their fate.

Their day did not start fantastically well as they lost both the toss and a wicket to the first ball of the match. This was much to the excitement of a spectator who was heard to comment,"You can often wait all afternoon for a wicket and we saw one first ball!" . Clearly an Easton fan as no Brockley supporter has ever bemoaned the lengthy time between dismissals.

The next 41 overs saw a slow procession of wickets and a slower accumulation of runs as Brockley posted 79 all out thanks to youngsters Elliot Smith and Jack Kimber showing some resolve and an undefeated 19 from the ever reliable Extras.

Easton mixed their order up in search of a quick win as the rain clouds gathered and with 20 off the first two overs were well on the way.However yet another fine bowling display from I Reed ( 5 for 39) with some belated support from Sykes (3 for 17) reduced them to 76 for 6 and recovered some pride for Brockley.J Reed then took two catches at first slip to add to one earlier in the innings ,smashing the previous Brockley record by two (held jointly by Ken Boreham and Simon Byford)and leaving Easton at a perilous 78 for 9.Despite the best efforts of I Reed,J Kimber and D Cowley,Easton flopped over the line with one wicket to spare. If only Extras had racked up another 10 runs!
