Brockley Cricket Club Golf Day
Saturday 3rd April 2010

Email Simon at simon.byford@btinternet.com to confirm entry.

The highly successful Brockley Cricket Club Team Golf Day will return on Saturday 3rd April 2010. It is open to all players, families, friends, acquaintances and interested parties. The only requirement of golfing ability is that you can procure a set of clubs for use on the day. The day is all about raising money for the club, but also having a jolly good time. Last year we raised in excess of £600 and I would like to beat that this year.

The main format for the golf will be a team stableford competition, with the winner receiving the highly coveted BCC Golf Day Trophy (providing Mr Bugg has engraved it and remembers to bring it along on the day!!) Teams will consist of four players, and it is highly recommended that each team consists of one Brockley Cricket Club associate, and three guests of their choosing. In this way we will maximise the number of teams, and also the amount of revenue for the club.

There will be one change to the programme from last year if there is any interest. In order to encourage non-golfers within the Cricket Club, there will be a two hour novice coaching and skills clinic run alongside the main competition. The only requirement for this is the individual themselves. It is a perfect opportunity for those who have not previously participated in golf to come along and try it out, and then join in the inevitable banter and joy of the rest of the day. The clinic is limited to numbers so apply now to avoid disappointment.

Cost for the day will be the same as last year, £140 per team (£35 per head) to include:

· Coffee/Tea & Bacon Roll on arrival

· 18 holes of Golf

· Two Course Meal & Coffee

· Prizes for teams & individuals (ie longest drive, nearest the pin)

The coaching clinic will be £25 to include all of the above with the coaching in place of the 18 holes of golf. To confirm your entry, apply to the coaching clinic or to raise any questions, please email me: simon.byford@btinternet.com

An update on Luke
Hi Phil

Just wanted to let you know that Luke has now passed out of the Royal Marines and is with Forty Commando in Taunton. Unfortunately he won't be available for cricket this summer as he has been posted to Afghanistan on March 15th for 6 months so by the time he gets back cricket season will be over! if however you do run into September/October I'm sure he will pop over to see you all.

Regards

Andrea Allen

Womens coaching
Women Only Cricket Coaching - STARTS FRIDAY 5TH FEB

The Suffolk Women & Girls Network in association with Bury CC are offering four sessions of winter coaching. As access to indoor venues is often difficult and willing coaches in demand, clubs often struggle to arrange nets for their senior women players. The SWAGN is committed to helping all players develop not just elite players.

These sessions are ideal for any women or girls who are playing senior club cricket, league or friendly, and would like to get some time on a bowling machine or working on something specific in bowling or fielding techniques. (County players are also welcome.)

The Lead Coach is Tom Huggins, ECB Level 3 coach and opening bat for Suffolk Men and Bury CC.

Venue - County Upper School, Beetons Way, Bury St Edmunds, IP32 6RF.
Time - 8-10pm
Day - Friday
Dates - 5th, 19th, 26th February, 12 March.

There will be a nominal charge to cover the venue hire. These are "drop-in" sessions but it would be useful to know if you are attending so we can plan the session more effectively.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR TEAM MATES OR ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED.

Regards
