This event first took place in 2008 with hillarious consequences. The idea was started as a joke on facebook but soon escalated out of control. The facebook group attracted a quarter of a million members worldwide and recieved widespread news coverage, including stories on the BBC and Sky.
So, it was decided to turn this madness into an annual event. We are aiming to make 2009 even bigger than 2008. Some of you forgot to buy your carrots last year, so we are dedicating ten days to the event this time round. No excuses this time. Let's make the global shortage of carrots happen.
What will we do with the carrots?
Anything you want is the simple answer. Why not be the good samaritan and make carrot soup for the homeless, as some of you did last year. Most of you, however, decided it would be more fun to leave the carrots at different landmarks around the world. This has led to some excellent photos for our gallery. Send us your crazy carrot photos and if they are wacky enough, we will add them to our gallery.
